We love traditional Palestinian embroidery, called tatreez, and knew that if we could stitch it onto these lovely brass earrings, we could create a gorgeous, truly Palestinian style earring! Each earring takes around two hours to embroider, with careful hand-work to ensure tight stitches and a clean backside.
We worked with artist Dalal Sarhan on this original design and embroidery. The collection is named after and inspired by Leelaja collection founded by Jamilla Hashem.Â
Please note brass discolors and tarnishes with time and humidity. They will darken a bit and not be shiny. It’s just a different kind of beautiful.
